SANY1133The Young Adults spent the week of June 21-28 in Brunswick, GA. Elderly and/or disabled citizens apply to the city for help in repairing their homes. Brunswick receives funding from grants for which the city has applied. The lady who was the recepient of the grant was both elderly and disabled. Major and minor repairs were performed:painting, drywalling, construction, etc.Troy Ayers commented, “I was very impressed with the work ethic of our young adult team as they worked as a unit.”

On Friday, Hartwell First’s YAMs were honored by the mayor and city council of Brunswick for their volunteer efforts by proclaiming June 26 Hartwell First UMC Day and presenting Rev. Ayers with the keys to the city.
