Troy Ayers will be driving either the church bus or van, depending upon the final number of volunteers going, leaving Hartwell (church gym parking lot) at 5:00 pm Friday, Sept. 2, arriving in Tunnel Hill, GA. between 9:00 and 10:00 pm. They will leave Tunnel Hill by about mid-morning Sunday, Sept. 4. The plan is to spend both nights at Tunnel Hill UMC and to work all day Saturday in the nearby tornado disaster area of Apison, TN. (lunch to be provided by Apison residents), then to eat supper somewhere in the local area. Volunteers on this trip are asked to bring enough money to pay for snacks and meals during travel to Tunnel Hill and returning to Hartwell. Currently, we have nine participants (including Troy’s family), and added to this number there will probably be a few young adults. Names of all the participants will be released next week. Any other volunteers interested in going on this trip please let me know ASAP and copy to <

and Sat., Oct. 15. Final details including directions to the house and work hours will follow soon.
The 29th Annual Wesley Walk at Stone Mountain will be on Saturday, October 22, 2011. We will be taking the church bus or van (depending again upon the size of our group), leaving at approximately 6:15 am, and returning by mid-afternoon. Donations to this walk benefit the Wesley Community Centers of South Atlanta which provide much needed services to low income seniors in that area. This year, we are asking that donors consider making their contributions in memory of Sue Kesler who with her husband, Jim was a past Wesley Walk Coordinator for our church. Also, if anyone would like to donate to this worthy cause in memory of Charles and Elizabeth Williams, they are deceased members of our congregation who were on the Wesley Centers Board of Directors involved in organizing the very first Wesley Walk in 1982. Please make check payable to HFUMC “for” Wesley Walk. This will be my 20th Wesley Walk as Coordinator; it would really be great to have a large group participating this year! Any volunteers wanting to participate please email me at <
cbpace@gmail.com>.
Thanks again for your kind support of our church missions.
