Sorry that it has been a few days since you have heard from me…we have been traveling and I haven’t been able to use a computer! We left Madrid and went to Barcelona for two days. It was a LONG ride, but definitely worth it when we got there! Late yesterday afternoon, we packed up and went to the terminal to board the ferry for Italy. However, the ferry was late getting in, so we had to sit in the terminal for more than three hours before we could board! It was after 11 PM before we were able to eat our dinner. Everyone was SO exhausted, we slept most of the day today!The weather was cold, windy, and dreary as we traveled. But the crew pushed on and got us into port tonight at the correct time! A miracle!!! The ferry was HUGE, and it was completely FULL with other tour groups. Imagine the chaos! I have to brag on our teens, though. Even with the delayed departure and bad weather they NEVER complained! They just pushed their suitcase up against a wall, plopped down on the floor, and calmly waited. We knew they were so hungry and tired, but they were real troupers…quite unlike some of the other travel groups! (We have laughed SO much on this trip!) Tomorrow, after a guided bus tour of Rome, we will visit the Roman Forum and the Roman Colosseum! The next day, we will take a tour of Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica! We all have taken some incredible pictures…but we haven’t been able to download them to share with you!
