Greetings from Barcelona!
It’s been another LONG day of travel! We left Madrid early this morning by bus and are now in beautiful Barcelona. The ride was long, but the countryside was beautiful…periodically, as you looked out your window you would see…WAY off in the distance…a castle! Yes, I said a castle! No matter how many times we saw one, it always caught us by surprise! We stopped in the city of Zaragoza and walked through the beautiful El Pilar Basilica. It absolutely took my breath away to look at the fresco paintings by the renowned artist, Goya. The Basilica has been through so many changes through the centuries..everywhere you looked there was yet another amazing thing of beauty to discover! Rick, Colin, Clay Miller and I walked up the tower steps (no easy feat, I can assure you!) to gaze out and look at all the turrets and towers. Tomorrow morning we will take a bus tour of the city before visiting La Sagrada Familia and Montjuic Hill. In the afternoon we will have “free time” to explore in smaller groups. I don’t think I’ve ever walked so much in my life!! I am so grateful to have this opportunity to explore this part of the world! We are all tired, but happy! I will try to send some pictures in my next post. In His name, Lynne
