The Young Adults spent the week of June 21-28 in Brunswick, GA. Elderly and/or disabled citizens apply to the city for help in repairing their homes. Brunswick receives funding from grants for which the city has applied. The lady who was the recepient of the grant was both elderly and disabled. Major and minor repairs were performed:painting, drywalling, construction,etc.Troy Ayers commented, “I was very impressed with the work ethic of our young adult team as they worked as a unit.”
On Friday, Hartwell First’s YAMs were honored by the mayor and city council of Brunswick for their volunteer efforts by proclaiming June 26 Hartwell First UMC Day and presenting Rev. Ayers with the keys to the city.

In cooperation with the American Legion Auxiliary we are collecting items that are needed by those
serving our country. Can you provide 1 or more of the following items?
You may bring the items to the church office to go in our box or take them to Cut, Curl, and Dye at 41 Maple Street.

HFUMC Sojourners will be on the road to Atlanta’s Chick Fil-A Corporate offices on September 14. Members will enjoy a meal during the tour and will stop by Mayfield Dairy for dessert. If you would like to go, please contact Sybil Clem.
